Show your Diet ID card in another language

Last updated on Jun 11, 2026

Your Diet ID card lets restaurant staff read your allergies and dietary restrictions clearly, even when you do not share a common language.

What the card shows

Your Diet ID card includes:

  • Your allergies and restrictions, with clear severity labels
  • A marker for allergies you have set as strict
  • A QR code that staff can scan for more detail

You can switch the card to another language so that staff read the information in their own language. The app supports multiple languages, including English and Arabic. Arabic is displayed right to left.

How to show the card in another language

  1. Open your Diet ID card in the app.
  2. Select the language you want from the language option on the card.
  3. The card updates immediately. Show it directly on your screen to the staff member.

The severity labels and allergy names appear in the chosen language, making it easier for staff to understand what to watch for.

Good to know

  • Showing the card is a helpful first step, but always speak directly to a staff member about your allergies. Confirm your order is safe before you eat, especially if any of your allergies are strict.
  • The card is a communication tool, not a medical guarantee. Staff should still check with their kitchen.
  • If you need to explain your needs in phrases rather than a card format, the Translate tab can help.
